I walk efficiently — fit, few breaks.
Full autonomy: you carry everything — bivouac tent, stove and several days' food; you pitch only on the authorized bivouac areas around the refuges.
Semi-autonomy: you carry your tent and sleeping gear, but lighten the load by resupplying at refuge shops, bergeries and mountain restaurants.
Full comfort: a day pack only — you sleep indoors (a refuge bed or a tent already pitched, rented on-site) and dine each evening at the refuge tables.
The more you carry, the longer the estimated times.
My itinerary
How to read these stages?
Difficulty: a /5 score combining ascent, distance and terrain technicality (from "Moderate" to "Very hard").
"Start early": a demanding day — lots of ascent and/or long. Set off in the cool and carry enough water.
Times: estimated from your pace and pack weight (accommodation) — adjust to your fitness.
