The trail first climbs to the day's high point, then drops steadily. Just before reaching the Carrozzu hut, it crosses the suspended Spasimata footbridge over the torrent, followed by large slabs of polished rock fitted with a chain to hold onto. The passage is short, and the exposure comes mainly from the slope and smooth rock rather than a sheer drop; it gets genuinely slippery in wet weather, so it's best avoided in the rain if possible.
The Spasimata footbridge and slabs are rated moderate exposure on the GR20: move slowly, use the chain, and stow your poles to keep your hands free.
Water & resupply. No real resupply point on this stage — you live off what you carried from Calenzana. The Carrozzu hut has a water point and serves meals ordered directly from the warden.
